Destruction of the disgusting, ugly hate: A Review of Soko

So the boy I'm dating used to be part of Drippy Eye Projections which basically creates liquid light backgrounds for shows and every now and then he still helps out with them which relates and benefits to me because I find out about shows that I may not have otherwise. I really hadn't heard of the singer Soko (Stéphanie Sokolinski) but shelled out the ten dollars to see her and a few other bands first at The Bubble in Ft.Lauderdale that she repeatedly called "Fart Lauderdale" in her French accent, and a couple days later at Propaganda in Lake Worth, that she used to tell us to make the night "lake worth it." Well it's almost a week later and I've had her album, I Thought I Was An Alien, on repeat. "First Love Never Die" and "Just Want to Make it New With You" are my favorites. She has an awesome stage presence with a hell of a lot of audience participation, having a girl dance topless with you on stage or calling me and my boyfriend out for making out and making her jealous are only a few things, as well as repeatedly yelling at everyone to shut up for her more somber songs. She's got an intensity to her music as well as a dance and 80's infused punk vibe that makes for a great show experience and audio wise and I really wish I would start bringing a better camera to these things...
