When I was a younger one, I wanted those damn red, sparkly Dorothy shoes more than anything in the entire universe. I'm not sure how I eventually acquired them, my mom honestly could've dipped a pair of shoes in glue and glitter and made them for me, I'm not sure. But those shoes drove my parents crazy over how much little me pined over those things. And now at 21, I kind of want sparkly shoes again. Saint Laurent showed recently a whole slew of sparkly shoes with this bad ass sixties Parisian collection that I loved. I really like the mod-ness of the shape of the shoes Hedi showed, he's a genius in my opinion. A creative soul mate to me. But I'll talk about him and that collection
another time. I think if in any other shape and not a pure nod to the sixties, these wouldn't have been pulled off as well at all but that's why he's great cause he did them perfectly. The cheesiness of this style, lets be honest, kind of is what draws me to it. It's silly and quirky but I think in a cool way. Like a girl that doesn't take being edgy very seriously. Gigi Hadid recently posted on her Instagram a photo of her just purchased shoes from misguided that I think maybe sparked my interest.
I wonder if in a few months I'm going to hate myself for loving this so much but it's this time of year infiltrating my taste, everything sparkly starts to look appealing.

So, being me, I was browsing Anthropologie's website and stumbled across these awesome boots that have that sparkle detail while not being too overbearing that I'll get sick of them quickly. I also would not be able to afford the Saint Laurent boots anyway but it always helps to pretend you prefer the cheaper alternative right? I also think with how easily this could pass in and out of my taste it could be fun to just make something myself with a crap load of glitter and adhesive spray, so that's something to maybe think about. I definitely think the styling of these is the most essentially important thing after the style of shoe the glitter is on.
How I'd style mine...

A simple and chunky oversized pullover and a second skin, washed black jean. Perfecto.
Someone I think is doing it right...

I obviously love the all black which lets the boots speak for themselves pop giving the hot pink a tougher look. And nice minimal accessories on the arms, good too.
So um, bells are beginning to ring. Merry Christmas to me with them Schuler & Sons boots?
