I'll be the first to say that its a rare thing for me to lean towards something in a print or color other than the basics. I have found myself though being drawn to a fabric that hasn't had it's time for a while outside of weddings and the red carpet. Satin is definitely finding it's way into my style aesthetic in fresh, new ways than the afore mentioned. For me, it's becoming a textile that I find adds a boost to neutral colors and can take the place of a print by adding a bit of diversity to a solid outfit. I still find it to be more on the dressy side of fabric so I think when blended with a distressed jean or leather boot it can still stay current without becoming bridal.
Where I've been finding the most concentrated items of satin has been on Nasty Gal, through their exclusive line, "After Party", which uses vintage fabrics and reworks them into limited pieces. Now these aren't actually satin but rayon blends that create the same sheen of satin sans the thickness.
Here are a few I've spotted:
Pulp Addiction Dress $68.00
Rain Check Trench Coat $69.00, Adella Bra Top $48.00
