Window Sill Playlist (Edited)

I have a favorite genre of music that I like to call, "Girl sits next to window in New York City apartment listening to record player". It's calming, inspiring, soothing, and cool. And for me, it's my go-to when I'm not sure what to listen to or I'm sitting by my window...listening to music. It's got a 90's feel to it always and a female singer. Here's a playlist for you and I to go to when you need something.

Shiny on the Inside- Leona Naess

These Days- Nico

Common Burn- Mazzy Star

I've Got a Feeling- Ivy

Five String Serenade- Mazzy Star

You Know- JJ

Don't Know Why- Norah Jones

Epic Aid Voyage-Submarines

Boys with Girlfriends-Meiko

Until We Get There- Lucius

Put Your Records On- Corinne Bailey Rae

These are my go-to songs, they make me feel like an independent woman, in the city, and it's raining.

Drips of Wine

I'm constantly in and out with things, wine color is one of them. Sometimes I'm so tired of it in fall and other times like now, I'm finding a lot of inspiration in it. I'm absolutely in love with the top left image and have been for a while. The shyness and coolness of the "effortless" outfit. It's perfect. And crop kick flares, never thought I'd be drawn to those. And yet I'm coveting the corduroy Pilcro pair Anthropologie is selling right now. That's just how fashion works. Just a little warm, Fall inspiration, especially as today is the first chilly day we've had. Shop below,

Skincare tips!

I would never EVER call myself a beauty guru or even slightly knowledgeable in products and make up, but I know what works for me.
I've recently decided to go all in on taking care of my skin (for me all in though has to be simple, like two steps). I found myself feeling like my face was lacking a lot of moisture and it just felt like it was so dry that at 22 I could be forming creases and shit. Think of it this way, picture crumbling a piece of paper and laying it flat, now picture crumbling a piece of paper that's been soaked in moisture and laying it flat. That's how I view my skin and how important it is to keep it moisturized.
I've already wrote on here and probably yelled at you before at how much I love Aveeno's Clear Complexion Foaming Wash and how you should try it. And I stick by it endlessly. It's the freshest my face has felt without feeling damaged and chemicaled out. And it clears it and leaves it baby smooth. I promise. I use it before bed and also might use a small amount when I wake up or in the middle of the day if I feel gross. And a tip, use a very small amount of water just enough to damp your hands a tad so it stays a thick lather. It's one single step but even just alone it feels like a cleanser, toner, and a bit of moisture.
But now, I've added a very light oil free moisturizer for the day and a thick cream for night time. I use Simple from....shit maybe CVS or Walmart, its cheap and very fresh. But the best new step I've added before bed is Nivea's classic Creme.
IF YOU ONLY READ ONE PART OF THIS POST, READ THIS.
This is Nivea's classic no thrills cream that comes in the blue container. It's cheap and your mother and grandmother probably used it. But, I've read studies that compare the results to being even better than creams that cost hundreds of dollars a jar. What I do, is after cleansing before I go to bed I put a pretty hefty layer of it on my face and neck. So much my face has almost a white tint a little, its very thick so you can't really just try to spread a small amount. Normally I'm not one for crap on my face, you'll never catch me with a face of concealer or foundation, I hate the feeling, so if you're like me just bear with it and you'll get used to the lotion very quick. Trust me, it's good for you. My face is pretty sensitive and this doesn't irritate it at all and doesn't make it feel greasy or anything. It just feels good. In just a single night of using it I woke up with the softest, most nourished skin I can remember having. It felt so healthy and moisturized all day and felt like it just filled in any imperfections....in a night. Ugh, it was so smooth to the touch and looked so fresh. For a small container, its not even $2!
So it's crazy affordable.
I just really like to share knowledge on products I love whether it be clothes or skincare cause I get really passionate about it when I believe in it!
So to break it down, wake up, cleanse, light moisturizer, cleanse, heavy cream, goodnight.

I will definitley keep you posted on the progress cause I just started commiting to this routine!

New paintings

First one is a large painting I half did in New Orleans and half did in South Florida and one of my favorites I've ever done.
The second was actually now that I think about it, started in New Orleans too and then experienced a ridiculous amount of layers, an influence of a gallery filled with people, and a model on a runway.

Daytime details

Just random things from around my room. Anthropologie candles, toppling hats upon hats, photo backdrops, paintings, yada yada.
